Statement/Bio
Materials are where my research and process start. I work with steel, plaster, and wood. I am using wood to draw right now. Scripting in the air to create a drawing on the wall. Trying to understand language and the written word. Realizing the important’s.
Ethel Poindexter was born in Central America. She spent her early years living in the Caribbean, North America, and Europe. She settled in Western Massachusetts after graduating from college. She has held multiple solo exhibitions in New York City, the most notable of which was held at Ivan Karp's OK Harris Gallery.
